From the beginning of confinement measures being implemented in France, Marfret successfully put in place teleworking arrangements for 90% of staff at its head and branch offices. With its network of agents across the world, the company has been used to using digital communications for many years.
“We activated a business continuation plan providing for a minimal staff presence in each department, with employees going in to the office twice a week on a rota basis. Since documentation isn’t entirely paperless, we print whatever is necessary,” points out managing director Guillaume Vidil. A regular presence at head office, Vidil makes sure employees are following protective measures. The company, incidentally, has distributed protection masks and alcohol-based hand gel to its staff.
To maintain team spirit, Marfret has begun publishing a weekly “Confinement Newsletter” to keep employees and its agents up to date on developments. In addition, monthly meetings have been made fortnightly, in order to closely monitor the situation.
