Marseille-Fos
Ideally located on the shores of the Mediterranean, the Port of Marseille Fos has all the required space and infrastructures to accommodate maritime, logistic and industrial activities.
As a generalist port, it handles all kinds of goods: hydrocarbons and bulk liquids (oil, gas and chemical products), general cargo (containers and other packaging) and bulk solids (minerals and cereals).
First French port, the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille also ensures ship-repair activities with several dry docks including the largest in the Mediterranean: "dry dock 10".
The Port is made up of two harbours:
- the “Eastern harbour”, historical harbour located in the city of Marseille, where are mainly handled the flow of goods to the Mediterranean and Africa.
- the “Western harbor”, backed by a vast industrial area of more than 10 000 hectares, which besides its petroleum and chemical activity, is also the port of containerization and massification.
PORT FACILITIES
The eastern harbour consists of:
- 1 container and Con-Ro terminal
- Several multipurpose terminals
- 4 quay cranes post panamax
- 32 hectares of storage capacity
The western port has among others, 2 container terminals, 2 car terminals, 2 break bulk terminals and a 300 hectare logistics area.
MARFRET IN MARSEILLES
Marfret operates two shipping lines from Marseille: MedCaribbean (FWI, Caribbean) and North Africa (Algeria and Tunisia).
The agency in Marseille counts 17 people who handle all trades of maritime agency: commercial, booking, consignment, organization of pre an post-carriage, documentation, invoicing… the objective being to ensure a service door to door and to position itself as a transport integrator.
The agency is an extension of Marfret’s shipping lines, it ensures that the service promised to customers is delivered.
