After his vocational baccalaureate in transportation, Gaël wanted to continue his studies by pursuing a BTS in transport logistics through an apprenticeship. On the advice of his family, he turned to Marfret, where he became one of the first apprentices welcomed by the company at its Marseille agency in 2008. He discovered operations there and regularly progressed, starting as a sales representative for the Maghreb line, then returning to the agency as an operations manager, before taking on the role of Deputy Line Manager. Since 2021, he has been the Agency Manager.
« My role as agency manager, along with my team, is to organize end-to-end transportation for the client. This is known as operations, which includes order taking (booking), container logistics, pre- and post-carriage, entry of maritime documentation, and issuance of the bill of lading (BL). In my job, I particularly appreciate the aspect of customer relations and managing the ship’s call, which involves interacting with crews and various port terminal stakeholders. In maritime transport, every day brings something new and interesting. I have only known Marfret, and I have always seen my efforts rewarded because I have been able to progress regularly. It is important to me to feel trusted and supported. The human dimension of the company is dear to me; it allows us to work with the rigor of large companies while maintaining a climate of kindness. »
